WHO WE ARE

Since 1922, Westchester Country Club is an exclusive family-oriented private club located in Rye, New York. Westchester Country Club is among the top country clubs and proudly designated as a Platinum Club of America, ranking #29 out of the top 150 country clubs in the United States.

With over 1,600 members, Westchester Country Club offers world-class facilities including the main club property and the beach club on the Long Island Sound. Club members enjoy two championship golf courses and a 9-hole executive course, comprehensive tennis and squash facilities, various dining options, an on-site fitness facility and indoor pool, and other specialized amenities. Westchester Country Club also has two large banquet rooms, conference facilities, member apartments, and guest accommodations.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

We are hiring a full-time seasonal Sailing Instructor for our Aquatics team.

This position is responsible for providing sailing lessons to members and watercraft “clinics” to camp groups.

  • Conduct sailing lessons and classes in accordance with WCC program standards
  • Ensure Members and Guests are provided with a safe learning environment throughout lessons/clinics
  • Effectively communicate all boat safety rules and ensure you are accessible and identifiable for any and all questions
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings as required
  • Assist with all essential job functions of the boat attendants including but not limited to setting up and stowing away all watercraft, maintain rental logbook, enforcing rules, safety and policies
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned, as required, by management

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • A valid NYS Boating Safety Certificate
  • Experience with kayaks, paddle boards, Hobie Cat, and Sunfish
  • Teaching experience, as well as experience working with kids and adults
  • Be an expert sailor who is comfortable sailing, maneuvering and docking watercraft
  • Excellent leadership skills, be extremely responsible and patient
  • First Aid certification
  • CPR certification
  • Minimum age requirement is 17 to meet NYS Minor Law Guidelines and operate a Club motorboat.
  • Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions
  • Present professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintains a high standard of customer service
  • Strong communication skills
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule throughout the summer season, including weekends and holidays

PAY RANGE

$18.00 to $23.00 hourly, commensurate with experience
