Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: The Racquet Sports Court Maintenance position is responsible for ensuring that the tennis and pickleball courts, as well as the surrounding areas, are kept in excellent condition and available daily for member use. This role requires a commitment to maintaining the courts to the highest standards and ensuring that the maintenance shed is clean, organized, and well-stocked.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Make sure tennis courts are swept and lined up each morning.
  • Make sure pickleball courts are clean from debris
  • Squeegee pickleball courts after rain.
  • Keep the Racquet Sports facility clean and well maintained
  • Make sure all the foot baths and ball machines have been put out.
  • Coordinate with the desk staff concerning any court closures due to repairs
  • Make sure daily and weekly assignments are completed.
  • Advise Maintenance Supervisor concerning necessary clay, lines, nails, plastic ties, and calcium chloride needs for the courts.
  • Resurface tennis courts during slow times and summer, paint fence.
  • Be sure the sprinkler system is tested weekly.
  • Assist members with the ball machine.
  • Pick up packages from receiving.
  • Be sure courts are prepared for all special events.
  • Pick up refreshments for league matches and finals of club tournaments.
  • Be sure tennis courts are rolled on a regular schedule and take any necessary steps to roll courts after inclement weather.
  • Make sure the courts are closed at the end of the day for maintenance and watering.
  • Check at the tennis desk so the court lights can be set for evening reservations.
  • Communicate with tennis desk staff concerning daily court status.
  • Put the ball machine after checking with the desk at the end of the day.
  • Other duties assigned by Supervisor/Director of Racquet Sports.

Education / Experience

  • Previous experience preferred but not required.

Licenses or Certificates

  • Must have a valid driver’s license

  • Normal vision and hearing ranges required.
