Job description

Job Title: St. Lucie County Summer Bus Driver
Salary: $23 per hour
Hours: Will vary
License Requirement: CDL Class A, B, or C
Reports to: Designated Club Director
Location: Will vary
1. JOB PURPOSE
The Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County takes changing the lives of youth to heart. We go above and beyond to ensure that every youth that walks through our doors has a world-class club experience that provides them with the opportunity for a GREAT FUTURE!
The primary functions of the SLC Bus Driver are to transport staff and club members over specified routes to local or distant points according to time schedule.
2. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The job duties & responsibilities are, but are not limited to,
• Provide a positive, safe, and productive environment to all club members, staff, and volunteers consistently
• Dress professionally and in accordance with the company's dress code
• Transport staff, club members, products, and/or materials securely to areas where they are needed
• Responsible for assisting with supervision of club members on trips and outings as needed
• Responsible for complying with local traffic regulations
• Report delays, any case of accident, injury, or damage of vehicles to the supervisor or manager
• Responsible for recording cash receipts and ticket fares
• Perform periodic maintenance on vehicles; such as refueling gas, checking oil and water, and ensuring the vehicle is kept clean
• Must complete mileage log and return to supervisor at the completion of every trip
OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Actively participate in Club trainings and All Staff meetings as needed
• Travel between sites and to activities as needed
• Fill in at a Club as needed
• Other related duties as specified by the Club Area Director
3. QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have CDL class a, b or c
  • Must have your own bus to transport
  • Must be current St. Lucie County school bus driver

BACKGROUND SCREENING
• Must submit to and pass Level 2 background screening through the Florida Department of Children & Families.
• Must pass pre-employment drug test
Certifications
• Current CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or GED with at least one 1-3 years of related experience is required.
Must be employed with St. Lucie County School District
Must have a valid CDL Class A, B, or C
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
  • Ability to work regular Club hours, evenings, and some weekends.

Some travel may be required for training and/or other business purposes.
4. Working conditions
Fast-paced work environment; flexibility to working schedules may be required due to changing business demands. General office conditions is the standard work environment (standing, sitting, and walking). 5. Physical demands:
• The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling, stooping/kneeling, reaching with hands and arms, and finger dexterity.
• This position requires extended talking, listening, sitting, walking, and standing; computer viewing, and keyboard entry. Regularly lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Daily operation of personal motor vehicle relevant to carrying out job duties is required for this position.
• Ability to think strategically and ability to sit for more than four hours per day.
