Job description

Work Arrangement: Onsite Role

Job Summary

The Developer Analyst performs highly complex (senior-level) computer systems analysis and serves as the primary Drupal and WordPress administrator for the agency’s website. The role involves web and browser application development, logical database management, documentation, and user training. The analyst also participates in cross-agency initiatives to implement standard web templates and practices. The position works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for independent judgment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and administer the agency’s Drupal website and WordPress blogs.
  • Plan, develop, and maintain web and browser applications to support library operations.
  • Provide training and guidance to team members on Drupal development and web management.
  • Participate in cross-agency workgroups for implementing standard web templates and tools.
  • Develop and maintain technical and security documentation.
  • Provide user training for in-house web applications.
  • Attend work regularly in accordance with agency policies.
  • Comply with all applicable agency rules including safety and conduct standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Other Requirements
  • Submit weekly progress reports of tasks completed and in-progress.
  • Ensure timely incident/request resolution.
  • Maintain up-to-date system and network documentation.
  • Report status on risks, challenges, and upcoming maintenance.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
  • Complete IT Security training with a certificate provided to the agency.
  • May require after-hours support for scheduled maintenance or urgent issues.
Minimum Required Skills & Experience
  • 8+ years of PHP programming using LAMP or LEMP stack – Required.
  • 8+ years designing/administering websites, tools, themes, and modules in a CMS (Drupal/WordPress) – Required.
  • 8+ years developing with frameworks like Laravel, Django, Symfony – Required.
  • 8+ years experience with Drupal administration – Required.
  • 8+ years experience with WordPress administration – Required.
  • 8+ years of Linux OS and command-line proficiency – Required.
  • 8+ years knowledge of development methodologies, systems, and environments – Required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent – Required.
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • 8+ years of Python programming experience in LAMP or LEMP stack – Preferred.
  • Experience with information retrieval systems like Solr or Drupal Search – Preferred.
  • Experience using Drush for Drupal management – Preferred.
  • Experience building responsive websites – Preferred.
  • Experience using AJAX for asynchronous web applications – Preferred.
  • Proficient in JavaScript, Ruby, and Java – Preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of web security, including XSS and SQL injection – Preferred.
  • Experience with ticketing systems like Remedy or KACE – Preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field – Preferred.
  • Recent industry certifications related to programming or web development – Preferred.
