Job description

This person's primary function will be to prepare fantastic food for large events. This individual must have a strong work ethic. The fundamentals to succeed in a professional kitchen are required. A willingness to learn from others and take direction in stride within a busy professional kitchen is required. This person must be a team player, willing to learn and exemplify the quality, consistency and dedication that is The Department at Hudson's Detroit.
Prepare menu items for catered events.
Verify any items produced in excess and check with Chefs
Label items with product name, party number, date made and date out
Foster open lines of communication with Chefs for any production issues noticed or expected
Follow safety procedures to endure an accident-free workplace
Follow sanitation standards and cleaning standards.
Use standardized recipes to provide consistent production
Responsible for proper handling, storage and use of food
Maintain and demonstrate a positive attitude and professionalism.
Establish and maintain a good rapport with staff, administrators and the public
Strive to continuously improve skills using appropriate methods
Champion and adhere to all Company standards and policies including the Code of Conduct, Attendance and Uniform and Appearance policy
Other responsibilities include supporting purchasing, dishwashing and overall building support.
Meals as well as breaks provided.
6 months of work experience in the industry preferred but not required
Large kitchen, banquet or off premise catering preferred but not required
Serve Safe/Allergen Certified or willingness to obtain certification required
Must be able and willing to work seasonal event driven schedule including nights, weekend and summer holidays
Proficient or willingness to learn. Food production as well as scheduling systems provided through internet based software and e-mail.
Strong organizational skills
A positive attitude and the willingness to work with all facets and levels of management is required.
