    Job Purpose and Summary
    The Superintendent is responsible for the quality and safe construction of a project from beginning to end product in accordance with the plans and specifications required and within budget. The Superintendent is responsible for managing the on-site Foreman to ensure the overall schedule is being adhered to and for efficiently scheduling the subs and suppliers. The Superintendent is responsible for ensuring that communication between the project office and field is seamless, the project stays on budget, and provides all necessary support to the Foreman so they can most effectively complete their jobs.
    Responsibilities
    • Oversee the quality and completion of the onsite project from start to finish
    • Maintain an in-depth three week schedule to assist the Foremen in creating day to day plan
    • Attend weekly project meetings
    • Coordinate necessary manpower and equipment
    • Maintain clear communication throughout the project
    • Communicate with Foremen about all day to day activities and onsite happenings
    • Verify that quantities are being accurately documented daily as work is completed
    • Empower the Foremen and provide support and assistance with daily planning, scheduling, and crew management while maintaining accountability of the Foramen
    • Assist Foremen with crew safety training
    • Ensure that erosion control standards are met
    • Always look for opportunities to better educate any crew member for the benefit of their growth and development
    • Communicate with subs and suppliers all scheduling and ordering
    • Provide constructive feedback on project results to the estimating department with details of things that went well and identify challenges
    • Verify that proper cost coding is strictly adhered to on all project timecards and daily reports
    • Responsible for site safety and compliance with regulatory agencies
    • Supervise 10-30 employees

    Job Requirements and Qualifications
    • High school education or equivalent
    • Able to push, pull, carry, lift 50 pounds
    • Open to learning, using, and implementing new technology
    • Good listener
    • Maintain professionalism in actions and talk
    • Clear communication skills for needs, plans, and intentions clearly and effectively
    • Strong organizational skills, able to create comprehensive project crew three week schedules and keep them updated and implemented
    • Proven sound judgement skills (decisions must be made with honesty, integrity, and clarity)
    • Team oriented and able to coach and lead individuals
    • Proven skills in being self motivated
    • Read, understand, and explain blueprints
    • Experience in the civil or structural construction fields
    • Previous experience as a foreman, laborer, and operator in the same line of work (five years of experience preferred)
    • Understanding of operations and maintenance needed for all the equipment being utilized on the project
    • Understanding of productivity
    • Delegate work efficiently along with providing the necessary training to ensure quality
    • Take personal and professional pride in every aspect of the project
    • Certification in First Aid/CPR, Confined Space, Competent Person, Erosion and Sediment Control, Rigging and Signaling

    Working Environment
    • Working conditions for this position will be mainly on project sites
    • May require travel
    • Oncall status
    • Hours worked will be weather dependent along with schedule requirements.
    • Summer time typically is longer hours and winter typically is shorter hours due to daylight.
    • Work may require weekend work when project demands.

    Compensation and Benefits
    • Pay: $46.46 - $63.10 per hour (based on qualifications and experience)
    • Monthly $75 phone allowance or company phone
