Job description

Summer Paraprofessional (Internship Opportunity)
Are you home from college this summer and looking for meaningful work that makes a real impact? Are you exploring a future in education, psychology, or special education?

The LEAD Center is offering a Summer Paraprofessional position designed to function like a hands-on internship. This role is ideal for college students or young adults who want to gain real experience working with students while being trained and supported by an experienced educational team.

This is not a typical summer job. It is an opportunity to step into a classroom, build relationships with students, and learn what it truly looks like to support both academic and behavioral growth.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work directly with students in small groups or one-on-one to support learning
  • Assist in implementing individualized academic and behavioral plans
  • Help collect and track student progress data
  • Support classroom structure, routines, and positive behavior systems
  • Collaborate closely with teachers and staff throughout the day
  • Contribute to a safe, structured, and encouraging learning environment

What You’ll Gain:

  • Hands-on experience in a special education setting
  • Mentorship and coaching from experienced teachers and leadership
  • Training in behavior support, instructional strategies, and classroom systems
  • A clear picture of whether a career in special education or education is the right fit for you
  • The opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students

Who We’re Looking For:

  • College students or young adults interested in education, psychology, or related fields
  • Individuals who are patient, teachable, and willing to learn
  • Strong communicators who can work as part of a team
  • People who are motivated by purpose and want their work to matter

At The LEAD Center, we prioritize strong relationships, consistent support, and a team-based approach. You will not be left to figure things out on your own—we train, guide, and work alongside you every step of the way.

If you are looking for a summer experience that is both challenging and deeply rewarding, we would love to connect with you.

*Could turn into a permanent position.
