Join our Phillies Baseball Academy Camps team: Be a Hero to Campers as a Coach at Phillies Baseball Academy Camps!

Are you ready to embark on a thrilling adventure filled with laughter, learning, and unforgettable moments? Phillies Baseball Academy Camps, powered by ESF Camps, are on a mission to create a summer like no other for campers ages 6 to 14. We are looking for energetic and passionate people to join our team and make a positive impact while having a blast!

A Coach handles camper group management and assists with baseball instruction, skill development, and games for Phillies Baseball Academy Camps. Coaches are assigned to coach in one of the following age groups:

  • Rookies: ages 6 to 7
  • A: ages 8 to 9
  • AA: ages 10 to 11
  • AAA: ages 12 to 14

Camp Locations:

Phillies Baseball Academy Camps are located at various facilities in the Delaware Valley. Camp are typically five-day programs (Monday through Friday) from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Phillies Baseball Academy Camps is offered at 15 locations over an 9-week period from mid-June to mid-August.

Requirements:

  • Baseball Background: Experience playing youth, scholastic, or college baseball preferred.
  • Experience: We are looking for experience working with children.
    • Previous experience working with children in a camp setting is preferred. 
    • Youth coaching experience preferred.
  • Age Requirements: Must be at least age 18 by the start of camp.
  • Hours: Typically, from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
  • Schedule Commitment: Any schedule changes or time off must be pre-approved by the General Manager of Phillies Baseball Academy Camps.
  • Required Training: Complete all required Phillies Baseball Academy, ESF and state-mandated training and onboarding.
  • Dress Code: Maintain the "Phillies Baseball Academy Look" (camp uniform) and embody the spirit of the camp.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Dive into the Camp Day! Promote and participate in daily baseball activities with enthusiasm, collaborating effectively with fellow coaches.
    • Lead a group of 8 to 12 campers in skill instruction periods, competitions, character development sessions and more.
    • Help to instruct and act as umpire.
    • Supervise team during the camp day, including during lunch and carline.
  • Safety & Positive Group Management: Ensure the safety and well-being of campers with an emphasis on positive behavior and effective group management. Promptly report any concerns to the Director.
  • Be the Ultimate Role Model: Supervise campers, while fostering a positive, welcoming, and safe environment.
    • Demonstrate ESF Core Values & Code daily, from “Gratitude” to “Bring It” daily.
    • Model the ESF Virtues of Character (Gratitude, Respect, Trustworthiness, Effort, Kindness, Positivity, Resilience, Community) in camp daily.
    • Adhere to all company policies.
    • Communication: Maintain clear, concise, and engaging communication with campers, families, peers, and our leadership team.

Reporting Relationships:

  • Reports directly to and takes direction from the Academy Specialist, with additional accountability to the Field Manager.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Push/pull, lift, and carry a minimum of thirty-five (35) pounds across campus. Work outside, upright, and mobile for six (6) to eight (8) hours per day  
  • Respond to emergencies, including running (up to 1 mile in some cases) and ascending stairs without undue exertion.
