Essential Duties & Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)
• Assist Curator of Education in organizing, planning and presenting ArtSmart outreach programs.
• Write curriculum maps and lesson plans following current state and federal standards
• Create and present art lessons for grades pre-k-12
• Coordinate activities for Community Days.
• Assist with event planning, set-up and clean up
• Present hands-on art activities
• Coordinate and present interactive activities and lessons for other programs when needed including ArtSmart Summer Camp, Make-and-Take Workshops and Museum School Tours.
• Prepare supplies and resources for youth education programs.
• Assist with the organization and installation of the annual student exhibition.
• Assist with docents and education volunteer training and scheduling.
• Assist Curator of Education in organizing, planning and presenting ArtSmart outreach programs.
• Work with all members of the education department and assist with other programs as needed.
• Perform other appropriate duties as assigned.
• Observe safety requirements. Report safety issues and items requiring work orders to Supervisor or Security.
• Work effectively with all Artis—Naples team members.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Experience, Competencies, and Core Values
Education/Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in studio art, art history, education or museum studies required.
• 1-3 years’ experience in museums and/or classroom setting is recommended.
• Good customer service skills are required
• Experience teaching is preferred.
• Availability to work early mornings, evenings and weekends as necessary.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office
