What do you need to be considered for this incredible opportunity?
- Have at least five (5) years of experience as a building inspector with a governmentorganization & three (3) years of experience as a plans examiner.
- Have ICC Certification as a Building Plans Examiner or be able to obtain certification within six (6) months of start date.
- A bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or related field is preferred.
- Supervisory experience is preferred
- At least two (2) years of experience related to enforcement and/or application of property maintenance, building, sign, zoning, and codes is preferred.
What does "A Day in the Life" Look Like?
- Review and approve building and construction plans to ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
- Interpret and apply ICC codes, ordinances, and technical standards to real-world projects.
- Communicate code requirements clearly through written comments, meetings, and daily interactions with architects, engineers, contractors, and the public.
- Conduct periodic field inspections to verify construction matches approved plans.
- Maintain accurate records and reports to support permitting, inspections, and compliance efforts.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: The starting hourly wage is $26.43 an hour and will increase to $27.49 pre hour after 6 months of successful probation.
