Familiarity with diagnostic tools, vehicle maintenance software, and specialized repair equipment is essential. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication help mechanics excel in fast-paced environments. What unique challenges might a Summer Amazon Auto Mechanic encounter compared to a year-round mechanic role?

As a Summer Amazon Auto Mechanic, you'll often face a fast-paced environment with increased delivery volume due to seasonal demand. This can mean more frequent repair requests and a need for quick diagnostics to keep the fleet operational. Job description

Bugeyeguys.com is a world-class classic car restoration business and we are looking for an experienced technician to help us execute world-class vintage sportscar restorations in our premium restoration shop with air conditioned work spaces in the summer and radiant heated floors in the winter.

Our cars are among the best in our category and we seek a detail-oriented yet quick and efficient technician who can help us complete a wide array of mechanical projects ranging from simple brake shoe replacement to five speed gearbox and supercharger conversions. Fabrication and creative problem solving is routinely required as new parts often need some modification to make them fit on the cars in which we specialize, which were primarily built from 1955-1967. There is quite a variety of work going on in our shop on any given day.

You must have at least five years of experience working as a mechanic on any type of automobile and at least three years of experience working on vintage cars and/or carburetor equipped cars. Fabrication and welding skills are a plus. We primarily work on Austin Healey Sprites, which are extremely simple cars. However, to build the best Sprites in the world requires experience and talent, and we are seeking to expand our staff of experts who will not settle for second best.

We have grown every year since we started this business in 2007, and have expanded our restored 1951 Quonset hut to a total of 11,000 square feet. If you love old cars and love keeping them running, we would love to speak to you. This is a salaried job that rewards quality work and problem solving. If you have talent and old car experience and you are tired of the flat rate model at most shops, give us a call!

Salary is commensurate with ability, and for the right person, we will contribute to moving expenses. We invite you to get in touch even if you are not currently living in our area. We are located just east of New Haven, CT, on the beautiful shoreline of Long Island Sound. Work schedule is 8-5 M-F. No Saturdays.
