Job description

Family Medicine Core Faculty

Summa Health Family Medicine Residency Program | Barberton, Ohio

Join Summa Health's Barberton Family Medicine Residency Program as a Core Faculty Physician and play a key role in training the next generation of family physicians. We welcome both experienced physicians and new graduates who are passionate about patient care, teaching, and mentorship.

As a member of Summa Health Medical Group, you will join one of Ohio's largest integrated healthcare systems, comprised of nearly 700 providers, two hospitals, and more than 20 health centers. The Barberton Family Medicine Residency Program has trained nearly 200 family physicians and currently supports 18 residents (6-6-6), offering faculty the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in both inpatient and outpatient education.

Position Highlights

  • Monday-Friday schedule with business hours

  • Shared weekend call (approximately every 6th weekend)

  • No OB coverage or prenatal care responsibilities

  • Balanced inpatient and outpatient clinical practice

  • Resident teaching, mentorship, precepting, and curriculum development

  • EPIC EMR with ambient listening technology

  • Dedicated administrative time and faculty development support

  • Opportunity for academic appointment with NEOMED and OU-HCOM

  • Leadership advancement opportunities within the residency, department, and health system

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Family Medicine

  • Prior teaching experience preferred but not required
