As a CoStar Software Engineer on the Data Automation team, you will play a key role in expanding the data platform that supports all of CoStar Group's largest brands including, CoStar Suite, LoopNet and Homes.com. You will deeply understand what drives the business for which you are building software. We firmly believe that what separates a good developer from a great one is a deep understanding of the business that they are supporting.
This position is located in our Richmond, VA office and offers a schedule of Monday-Thursday in office and Friday work from home.
Responsibilities
• Build big, distributed, API-driven systems for tens of thousands of users
• Produce bullet-proof code that is robust, efficient and maintainable; our primary tools are C#, .NET Framework, AWS (Dynamo/S3/Lambda), SQL Server
• Drive and lead software design, development standards, code reviews.
• Continually evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities, trends, and best practices that can be leveraged to strength CoStar's technology platform and develop practices.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree required from an accredited, not for profit university or college
• 3+ years of experience in C#, .NET Framework
• 3+ years of experience in MS SQL Server OR Database Design in T-SQL programming/performance tuning
• Experience in architecting, designing and building large-scale distributed, services-oriented systems and web applications in an agile environment
• Data modeling experience
• A track record of commitment to previous employers
Preferred Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience in JavaScript, React, C# and .Net Core
• Experience with RESTful web services
• Familiarity with Postman, Swagger, and API testing best practices
• Advanced SQL Querying
• Power BI for advanced reporting and dashboards
• Strong communication skills (to both business and technical partners)
• Data modeling experience from conceptual, logical and physical designs
• Databricks for data engineering workflows
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure or AWS)
