Title: Packaging Tech

JOB REQUIREMENTS and RESPONSIBILITIES

GENERAL

Western Sugar Cooperative in Fort Morgan is currently seeking candidates for the role of Packaging Technician 2. Since 1906, Western Sugar Cooperative has specialized in the production and distribution of beet sugar.

The Packaging Technician is responsible for all aspects of packaging of powdered or granulated sugar for the Fort Morgan factory.

As the Packaging Technician 2, you will:

  • Packaging beet granulated and/or powdered sugar utilizing efficient packaging techniques
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions & work with maintenance & management to get it functional
  • Keep work area clean and safe at all times
  • Complete “pass on” with the next shift for continuity
  • Be able to lift 100 lbs.
  • Follow required Good Manufacturing Practices and good hygiene
  • Be working in a team context with goals and objectives

We want to hear from you if you possess:

  • Prior experience in warehouse packaging or able to be trained on high-speed packaging lines (bemis or powder)
  • Willingness to work shifts that may include weekends.
  • Commitment to personal and food safety
  • Commitment to regular attendance with effective time management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task with good organizational skills
  • Have good oral and written communication skills
  • Have a commitment to regular attendance
  • Have basic computer knowledge

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
