Position Overview

As a Utility Locator Technician, you'll locate and mark public 811 underground utilities supporting major fiber optic projectsthroughout the Austin area,where some travel may be required. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, solving problems, and being part of a growing organization that values its employees.


What You'll Do

  • Locate and accurately mark underground fiber optic utilities
  • Read and interpret utility maps, plans, and construction prints
  • Operate locating equipment safely and efficiently
  • Complete required documentation and daily reports
  • Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and teammates
  • Follow all company safety procedures and industry standards
  • Maintain company equipment and vehicle
  • Perform additional duties as assigned


What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 + years utility locating experiencerequired
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to pass a physical examination and pre-employment drug screening
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Ability to walk uneven terrain including dirt, gravel, grass, and roadways
  • Willingness to travel overnight as needed
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and participate in an on-call rotation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous construction experience
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
