Job description

Job Title: SUE Technician
Work Location: Atlanta, GA
Salary: Based on experience and will be discussed with manager in interview

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Perform subsurface utility investigations using ground-penetrating radar (GPR), electromagnetic locators, and vacuum excavation techniques.
  • Accurately locate and identify underground utilities, such as gas, electric, water, and telecommunications lines.
  • Prepare and interpret field sketches, utility drawings, and as-built data.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other field staff to ensure accurate reporting and safe excavation practices.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety protocols and industry standards.
  • Assist with the preparation of reports, deliverables, and field notes.
  • Maintain equipment and vehicles in a clean and functional condition.

Education/Experience:
  • Highschool diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1-2 years of experience in SUE, utility locating, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with SUE methods, including QL-B, QL-C, QLD and QL-A.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction and utility plans.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to work in various weather conditions and travel to job sites as needed.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check

Physical Requirements:
  • Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments
  • Ability to carry required instruments and equipment
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • The worker is subject to variable climate and environmental conditions including but not limited to extreme cold and heat.
