Employment Type: As Needed / Part-Time / On-Call
Pay Rate: $11.00/Hour
$13.25/Hour for long-term substitute positions
About the Role
Dedicated School Staffing is seeking reliable and hardworking Substitute Food Service Workers to support school nutrition teams when regular staff are absent. This role helps ensure students receive healthy, safe, and timely meals each day. Substitute workers assist with food preparation, serving, kitchen operations, and maintaining a clean, welcoming cafeteria environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with preparing and portioning food according to established menus and guidelines
  • Serve meals to students in a friendly, efficient manner
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and follow all food-handling procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, serving areas, and cafeteria spaces
  • Wash dishes, utensils, and equipment as needed
  • Set up and break down serving lines and food stations
  • Follow all safety, sanitation, and district nutrition policies
  • Assist with inventory, storage, and organization of food and supplies
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and school personnel
  • Provide excellent customer service to students and staff

Required Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Clean criminal background checks
  • Obtain Ohio ID account & enroll in Ohio rapback program
  • Ability to follow directions and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to lift, carry, or move items as required
  • Dependability, punctuality, and strong work ethic
  • Adherence to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators

Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in food service, cafeteria work, or customer service
  • Knowledge of safe food-handling procedures
  • Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment
