Job Description: Provide direct instruction to all students.
Qualifications:
  1. Hold valid New York State School teaching certificate or requisite hours per NY state guidelines
  2. Flexibility to meet the needs of a range of student learners
  3. Ability to work effectively with a variety of staff
  4. Strong communication skills
  5. Strong organizational and planning skills

Responsibilities: Shall include but are not limited to the following:
  • Ability to follow plans provided
  • Ability to plan lessons as needed
  • Knowledge of classroom management strategies
  • Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed
  • Ability to organize and coordinate work;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students and parent(s) guardian(s)
  • Ability to engage culturally diverse students; and
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Terms of Employment:
The position of Substitute Teacher can be per diem, short term, long term or ten-month position.

Salary: NYSED teacher certified - $130/day (1-30 days)

Uncertified -$120/day
NYS TRS retiree -$145/day (1-30 days)
