Substitute Paraprofessional

The State College Area School District is seeking enthusiastic and resourceful substitute paraprofessionals for the 2026-27 school year to support our classroom teachers and students. The district is seeking candidates who demonstrate a commitment to professional growth and development and possess diverse professional experiences. Substitute paraprofessionals will reinforce classwork, guide activities under the supervision of a teacher, and prepare teaching materials. An outstanding substitute paraprofessional will be someone whose patient and student-centered approach enables all students to benefit from learning experiences. Substitute Paraprofessional job duties may differ with each placement. Organizational and collaborative skills are critical to success in these positions.

Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Guiding students in classroom assignments and activities, both individually and in groups.
  • Preparing teaching materials and equipment as per the class schedule.
  • Supervising students during activities such as recess and lunch.
  • Assist the teacher and students with cleanup from activities.
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities as assigned by the teacher or Principal in accordance with school and state policies and practices.
