What is a substitute aide?

Substitute aides are individuals who temporarily fill in for regular classroom aides or teacher assistants when they are absent. Substitute aides may work in a variety of educational settings, including elementary, middle, or high schools, and their responsibilities can vary based on the needs of the classroom and the direction of the supervising teacher.
