Substation Manger
Location: Juno Beach, Florida (Onsite)
Role Overview
This role is responsible for coordinating and managing construction work performed by contractors and vendors at the project site. The position involves assessing productivity, schedule compliance, work quality, and safety performance. The manager will act as a critical bridge between field operations and leadership, ensuring construction crews and project stakeholders remain aligned.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prioritize and enforce safety protocols on the job site, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed effectively.
  • Perform inspections, maintain QA/QC documents, and audit construction quality.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to Construction Supervisors and the supplemental workforce.
  • Manage scope control, budget oversight, performance reporting, and schedules.
  • Maintain open communication with team members, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Keep detailed records of construction activities, progress reports, and safety inspections.
  • Identify and resolve issues that may arise during construction to ensure the project stays on track.
  • Work with EPC to resolve requests for information (RFI) and change orders.
  • Perform material procurement and material take-offs.
  • Review projects after completion to report successes, lessons learned, and opportunities for improvement.
Required Qualifications
Education: Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Power Generation, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience: 6 - 10 years of experience in power plant commissioning, working with EPC Contractors, engineering firms, and equipment suppliers.
Technical Skills:
  • Vast knowledge of electrical schematics, mechanical, civil, and steel structural drawings.
  • Familiarity with concrete work, flat foundations, drill piers, breaker pads, and GSU containment pits.
  • Proficient computer skills, including a strong grasp of general software like MS Office (Excel, Word, Project).
  • A thorough understanding of safety regulations and practices, including the ability to identify and mitigate hazards.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles related to power plant commissioning.
Work Environment
  • Ability to work safely near equipment energized at hazardous voltage levels.
  • Ability to lift and carry tools, equipment, and materials in hazardous environments and across uneven ground.
  • Driving will be required as part of this position's duties.
