Job description

We are currently looking for a Substation Physical Engineer from 0 to 5 years of experience.
Duties
  • Assist with create/modify detailed design for Substation:
  • Control building (relay panels, facilities, cable raceways, trays, etc.)
  • Busbar and strain bus
  • Equipment & support structures
  • Assembly drawings
  • Cables and connectors
  • Lightning protection and lighting
  • Grounding grid
  • Conduit and tranches
  • Perform basic calculations such as:
  • Grounding
  • Lighting and lightning
  • Cable ampacity
  • Tray sizing
  • Trench sizing
  • Conduit sizing
  • Assist project manager to develop scope of work and conceptual design for the projects;
  • Communicate and coordinate project activities with project manager, client, and others as needed;
  • Take personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of one's work;

Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical or Civil is preferred.
  • 0 to 5 years of experience in Substation Physical design.
  • Willing to pursue PE license in NY and NC.
  • Desired knowledge of Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), NERC, NEC, NESC, NEMA, and ANSI standards used in designing substation is critical.
  • Periodic travel, ability to visit project sites.

Salary Range: $60,000 - $86,000 per yearThe specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.
