This position is remote but rooted in our office in Mount Rainier, MD. Our clinic is equipped with advanced telehealth technologies, ensuring seamless communication and connectivity with clients, regardless of their location. The typical work schedule is Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts required based on patient needs.

• Conduct thorough assessments to identify the specific needs and desired goals of individual clients seeking treatment for substance use disorders.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on best practices, focusing on evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral therapy.
• Provide one-on-one counseling sessions and facilitate group therapy sessions that promote a supportive atmosphere for clients in recovery.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists and addiction specialists, to ensure integrated care and support for clients.
• Offer crisis intervention in substance-related emergencies, applying your skills to alleviate immediate distress and stabilize clients.
• Educate clients and their families about substance use disorders, recovery options, and available community resources, empowering them to take an active role in their healing process.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation of client progress and treatment outcomes in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Engage in regular team meetings, case reviews, and professional development sessions to enhance clinical skills and approach.
• Stay informed on the latest advancements in substance use disorder treatment to provide clients with the highest quality of care.

The primary client population consists of individuals and families impacted by substance use disorders. Our counselors play a pivotal role in helping clients navigate the complexities of addiction recovery, bridging gaps in understanding and providing emotional support at every turn. We strive to create a welcoming environment that fosters trust and open communication, accommodating the unique backgrounds and experiences of each client.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• A valid and current license as an LCSW-C, LCMFT, LMFT, or LCPC in the state of Maryland.
• A strong foundation in the principles and practices surrounding substance use disorders and recovery-based care.
• Experience in providing therapeutic interventions both in group and individual settings, particularly related to addiction treatment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, characterized by empathy and a non-judgmental approach towards clients.
• A demonstrated ability to maintain professional boundaries and adhere to ethical guidelines.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems to document client interactions and manage schedules effectively.
• A collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment.

• Background in substance use disorder treatment and recovery, with specific training in evidence-based therapies.
• Prior experience working in community health settings providing therapeutic services in a variety of formats.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt methodologies to fit diverse client needs and foster positive treatment outcomes.

The annual salary range for this position is between USD 80,000 and 100,000, complemented by performance-based bonuses and a sign-on bonus for eligible candidates.
