In this vital role, you will provide evidence-based addiction counseling and mental health support to individuals struggling with substance use disorders, co-occurring mental health conditions, and related behavioral health challenges. Your expertise will help clients achieve recovery, develop coping skills, and improve overall well-being through personalized treatment plans, crisis intervention, and ongoing case management. Duties

  • Manage crisis situations effectively through crisis intervention strategies, crisis management protocols, and de-escalation techniques to ensure client safety.
  • Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams, including social workers, medical staff, and community resources, to provide integrated home and community care services.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
  • Conduct client intake assessments, behavioral health screenings, and diagnostic evaluations using ICD coding systems (ICD-9/10) for proper diagnostic impressions.
  • Engage clients in evidence-based addiction medicine practices while supporting their mental health and behavioral health goals.
  • Provide culturally competent care by working effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and ensuring confidentiality throughout all patient interactions.
  • Collect data for research purposes, monitor treatment progress, and adjust interventions based on clinical findings to optimize patient outcomes.

Experience

  • High School Diploma
  • At minimum a Certified counselor-in-training certificate.
