Description
The Orthopedic Clinic Surgery Center is a growing, state-of-the-art, Ambulatory Surgery Center in Daytona Beach, Florida. Our team of ten Surgeons, ten Mid-Level Providers and our dynamic clinical team are dedicated to providing compassionate and cutting-edge orthopedic care. We are currently seeking a highly motivated, experienced Operating Room Circulating RN to join our lively team.
This position involves daytime shift work; no weekends, no holidays, no call!
POSITION EXPECTATIONS:
As an Operating Room Circulating RN, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and sterile environment throughout the surgical procedure and providing care to patients before, during, and after surgery. Other responsibilities of this position include:
  • Prepare the operating room with necessary equipment and supplies
  • Ensure all surgical instruments are sterilized and functioning
  • Monitor the surgical team to maintain a sterile environment
  • Assist in positioning the patient safely before the surgery
  • Verify patient information and surgical site before the procedure begins
  • Document all aspects of the surgical procedure in the patient's chart
  • Coordinate with anesthesia providers to ensure patient safety
  • Manage the flow of the operating room and anticipate the surgical team's needs
  • Handle specimens taken during surgery and ensure proper labeling and documentation
  • Assess the patient's condition and readiness for discharge from the post-anesthesia care unit
  • Provide emotional support to patients and their families before and after surgery

The ideal candidate will be focused on excellent patient care, have the ability to multi-task, the ability to show flexibility in assignments, maintain scrupulous infection control standards, maintain professional competencies and have the ability to work as part of an interdependent multidisciplinary team.
Requirements
  • Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing
  • Must hold a current unrestricted license to practice in the State of Florida.
  • Current American Heart BLS certification and ACLS/PALS.
  • Prior experience working as a Circulator
