The Undersea Technology Portfolio, within SPA's Sea, Land, & Air Division, conducts rigorous and objective analyses to enable the Navy and other DoD organizations to make decisions, plans, and strategies to deliver emerging technologies and warfighting capabilities. We support clients across the undersea, naval special warfare, and expeditionary warfare enterprises, including those within resourcing and requirements, acquisition, and science and technology.
SPA has a future need for an Engineer with Submarine Training experience.
Responsibilities
Seeking multiple candidates with various levels of experience. The candidate will support a PEO (SUB) Program Office and act as an engineer. The candidate will provide engineering expertise to government Program or Project Managers who oversee Undersea Acoustic Systems, Combat Submarines, Imaging Systems, or Training Systems. The candidate will:
  • Provide Undersea Weapon System engineering subject matter expertise to the Submarine Training Systems office.
  • Assist in overseeing and executing training initiatives.
  • Assist government program managers in developing training requirements and program actions.
  • Support government program managers in developing, managing, and evaluating contractual documentation and deliverables from the prime system integrator in support of system design and development acquisition milestones.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • 5 + years of experience working with Navy Submarine Training Program/Project Management
  • Experience leading a project and interfacing with an end item customer
  • Demonstrated leadership and strong communication and customer management skills
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Active Secret Security DoD clearance and the ability to maintain it throughout employment

Desired Qualifications:
  • 10 years of Navy program or project management
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (technical or managerial discipline)
  • Submarine Training Systems, SMTT experiance highly desired
  • Relevant experience on Navy Sonar/radar, Combat System, Training System, Electronic Warfare or Imaging System, or on other Undersea Warfare programs
