FAST Labs innovates science, technology, and engineering breakthroughs for some of the toughest technology challenges in the defense, aerospace, power and propulsion, and security industries. This research and development (R&D) business, within BAE Systems' Electronic Systems sector, collaborates with business areas across the company's global enterprise to develop and implement advanced technology capabilities in the areas of advanced electronics, autonomy, cyber, electronic warfare, and sensors and processing.
We are looking for a Program Manager for the R3 product line within FAST Labs. R3 is the premier provider of advanced radio frequency electronic warfare, microelectronics, and cyber solutions. These solutions are advanced by constant innovation in mission applications, algorithms, integration approaches, and materials. For more than 60 years, BAE Systems has pioneered next-generation capabilities in electronic surveillance, electronic protection, and electronic attack. R3 leverages a foundational understanding of customer missions and threats, gained through fielding and supporting a significant array of systems across the Department of War. Our mission is to exploit the entirety of the electromagnetic spectrum, enabling optimal operation of our systems and to disrupt and defeat adversary platforms and networks. We create advanced components for the next generation of sensors, actuators, electronic warfare systems, and cyber physical systems.
This Program Manager will manage, coordinate, plan, organize, control, integrate, and execute one or more programs simultaneously. They will ensure achievement of financial, schedule, and technical performance objectives. They will support new business capture as part of proposal development teams. They will be expected to model and demonstrate strong leadership in ethics, safety and security.
The selected candidate will support programs with employees based out of Merrimack, NH and Arlington, VA. This position requires a comprehensive interface with Contracts, Subcontracts, Finance, Procurement, IT, and Security functions within the company as well as with internal and external customers to ensure that the portfolio's financial, schedule and technical objectives are met and that the highest level of customer satisfaction is achieved. You will have a significant opportunity to work with leaders in these areas and in the technical business areas defining future technology transition.

  • Accountable for all aspects of program initiation, planning and execution (cost, schedule, technical performance, quality, customer engagement, etc.) and ensuring program commitments are met.
  • Responsible and accountable to the Business for program execution, profitability, timeliness, and overall success. Make decisions that are cost effective to the company and ensure assigned projects meet financial commitments and salients.
  • Develop program/project plans specifying goals, staffing needs, schedule milestones, risks and contingency plans.
  • Assist with managing customer (internal and external) and supplier relationships to maintain a high level of customer engagement and satisfaction.
  • Foster a culture of innovative problem solving, performance excellence, and continuous improvement

Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

Required Skills and Education
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field with at least 10 years of experience or Master's degree with 8 years of experience.
  • At least 4 years of Program Management experience
  • Active DoW Top Secret clearance and ability to obtain DoW SCI and SAP Security clearances
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment that requires a high degree of initiative and adaptability
  • Strong Interpersonal and Leadership Skills - demonstrated experience being successful leading cross-functional teams
  • Skilled communicator who influences and shapes the behavior and performance of teams executing complex requirements
  • Strong presentation skills
  • RF, EW, and cyber knowledge and experience are a major plus
