Job description

Johnson Subaru of Cary is always looking to expand our team of Full-Time Automotive Service Technicians, at all levels of experience. Whether you're beginning your automotive career or you're a Master Technician, Johnson Automotive offers opportunities for continued training, certification, and career advancement. 

Essential Responsibilities 

(Include, but are not limited to:)

  • Receive and review repair orders, clarifying concerns with the Service Advisor or Dispatcher as needed.
  • Diagnose vehicle concerns accurately and perform repairs efficiently in accordance with manufacturer and dealership standards.
  • Complete maintenance and repair services while meeting established quality and productivity expectations.
  • Inspect vehicles for additional maintenance, safety, or repair needs and communicate findings to the Service Advisor.
  • Collaborate with the Parts Department to obtain required parts and materials in a timely manner.
  • Properly document all diagnostic procedures, repairs performed, parts used, and recommendations in the repair order.
  • Preserve and tag warranty or requested parts in accordance with manufacturer and dealership requirements.
  • Perform road tests when appropriate to verify concerns and confirm repair quality.
  • Maintain current knowledge of manufacturer technical bulletins, repair procedures, and emerging vehicle technologies.
  • Participate in manufacturer training, dealership training, and continuing education to enhance technical knowledge and skills.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all dealership safety policies and environmental regulations.
  • Comply with all federal, state, local, manufacturer, and dealership policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Previous automotive repair experience; level of experience will determine placement within our technician career path.
  • ASE Certification preferred; manufacturer certifications are a plus.
  • Strong diagnostic, mechanical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to efficiently prioritize multiple repair orders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with service advisors, managers, and fellow technicians.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn dealership diagnostic and repair software.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Flexible schedule, primarily Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays as business needs require.
