Job description

SIA Direct Hire Production Associate - 2nd Shift 

SIA is seeking highly motivated and qualified manufacturing professionals for Direct Hire onto our second shift production operations. Ideal candidates will have 3.5 years or more of manufacturing experience.  All forms of manufacturing experience are welcome.  Previous experience in assembly or fast-paced line production & manufacturing roles are preferred.

Company Overview: Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc. or "SIA", located in Lafayette, Indiana, is the only Subaru vehicle manufacturing facility in North America. SIA is a 4.4 million square foot automotive OEM - meaning our manufacturing process begins with coils of steel and ends with the high-quality vehicles you see out on the roads. We employ 6500+ Associates, both production and administrative, all under one roof. SIA is one of the safest automotive manufacturing plant in the United States and is also a pillar in the community due to its numerous fundraising activities held onsite, donations to local charities and plentiful volunteer opportunities. SIA is a frontrunner in environmental stewardship being the first Zero-Landfill automotive manufacturing plant and the first to have its campus designated a backyard wildlife habitat.  Outline of Duties: 

  • Perform manufacturing tasks as well as identify areas of improvement to increase efficiency. 
  • Work, alongside a team, to complete processes towards the assembly of Subaru vehicles. 
  • Rotate through stations for specific production processes. 
  • Conduct quality inspections on products and parts. 
  • Prepare finished products for shipment to other SIA Sections. 
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area. 
  • Must be active in Safety, Environmental, and Continuous Improvement activities. 
  • Initiate, document, and participate in company-wide Kaizen projects. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of eighteen (18) months manufacturing assembly experience
  • Ability to work a 2nd Shift schedule (Generally, 4:30 PM to 1:00 AM). 
  • Ability to work overtime, including Saturdays. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment. 
  • Must be a self-directed, motivated individual. 
  • High school diploma or GED required. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 3.5+ years manufacturing assembly experience
  • Currently employed in Manufacturing
