Job description

IN-OFFICE

Escrow Accounting Analyst


Job Summary: 

This position will be responsible for leading and training the Escrow Accounting Analysts. Additionally, will step in as backup for Escrow Accounting Analysts as needed.

Tasks/Responsibilities

  • Train and cross train team.
  • Generate reports and review files for negative balances.
  • Assist with the deposits and disbursements of wire transfer operations. 
  • Review file balances and examines and corrects any negative balances. 
  • Review and reissue stale-dated checks.  
  • Conduct daily deposits identifying incoming wires and applying to the appropriate file and trust account.
  • Manage, review, and clear Trial Balances and Outstanding Checks
  • Verify and add wiring instructions to the payoff database. 
  • Review, post, and issue of stale-dated checks and ledgers.
  • Review monthly reconciliations of escrow/trust accounts.
  • Enter, review, and approve wire entries as needed. 
  • Download and distribute reports to various departments.
  • Assist the escrow team with voiding checks, stop payments, confirming wires details, troubleshooting wires, receipting-in checks, etc.
  • Take direction from Management and work in a team environment.
  • Take phone calls and expeditiously respond to Escrow team and customer requests and inquiries.
  • Building effective internal and external relationships with Escrow, Title, and customer.  
  • Assist the Accounting team and Accounting Manager as requested
  • Cross-train on all team members duties
  • Assist with vacation coverage for the team
  • Operate office equipment (I.e. copier, scanner, fax machine, e- mail). 
  • Additional duties, as defined by the Manager.

 

Experience Required:

·      2 years experience in escrow accounting.

·        Knowledge of banking systems and ability to properly balance an escrow/sub-escrow transaction.

·        Ability to handle a high volume of wires with accuracy.

·        Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to professionally handle general inquiries from clients in an expeditious manner.

·        Strong math and/or accounting skills

·        Strong client relations skills.

·        Be a dedicated self-starter, requiring little direction to perform daily duties

·        Strong organization skills and attention for details

·        Ability to be flexible and conform to shifting priorities

·        Attention to detail and the ability to work under time constraints and deadlines 

·        Ability to work overtime at certain periods of the month 

 

 

Special Requirements:

·        Strong data Entry skills

·        Experience using Excel, Word, Outlook

·        Accounting and Banking experience a plus

·        Strong computer skills are a must

·        Strong typing skills are a must

·        Able to follow all company procedures and policies including meeting the company customer service expectations

  • Excellent analytical skills 
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interface with multiple stakeholders. 
  • Ability to work in a collaborative job environment.
