The Oxford Hills School District is accepting applications for a Sub- Custodian.  This is a District wide Position.

Job Description:

The Sub-Custodian supports the daily cleaning and upkeep of school buildings to ensure a safe, healthy, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. Working under the supervision of the Head Custodian or Facilities Manager, the Sub-Custodian performs routine custodial duties across classrooms, hallways, restrooms, cafeterias, gymnasiums, and other school areas. This position may also assist with preparing spaces for school events, monitoring building safety concerns, and supporting the smooth operation of the school facility. Reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a school setting are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • * Clean and maintain classrooms, hallways, restrooms, cafeterias, gym spaces, and common areas
  • * Perform floor care such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and spot cleaning
  • * Empty trash and recycling cans and transport waste to designated disposal areas
  • * Sanitize high-touch surfaces to support student and staff health
  • * Restock classroom and restroom supplies (paper towels, soap, tissues, etc.)
  • * Assist with minor maintenance tasks and promptly report needed repairs
  • * Set up and break down furniture and equipment for school events, meetings, and activities
  • * Monitor safety concerns and ensure compliance with school health and safety standards
  • * Follow a daily and weekly cleaning schedule while responding to special requests as needed

Qualifications:

  • * Prior custodial or school facility experience preferred but not required
  • * Ability to lift/carry moderate weights and perform physical tasks throughout the day
  • * Dependability, strong work ethic, and attention to detail
  • * Ability to work cooperatively with school staff, students, and administrators
