Assistant Salon Manager – Stylist Manager - Houston, TX - Rice Village
Overview

The Stylist Manager is responsible for leading the performance of the Stylist to achieve the
Boardroom’s goal to build the best teams in the industry, deliver outstanding client service to each
client on every visit and achieve financial targets. The Stylist Manager will develop their team to be the
best in the industry by instilling in them the Boardroom way (core values, culture, procedures, policies,
terminology and strategy) and ensure our clients receive the ultimate relaxed grooming experience for
men.
This is a full-time position (schedule for 36+ hours weekly) that reports to the Area Manager (at
locations without Area Manager, this position reports to the Owner(s)).
Key Responsibilities
The Stylist Manager is responsible for performing the following responsibilities to the highest
standards:
1. Train, mentor, coach and develop stylist and ensure they fully understand the Boardroom way.
Effectively build an empowered team, create a positive and fun vibe in the salon and ensure our
clients relax, look great and feel confident. This will involve clear and frequent communication
with all team members as well as the Area Manager and Corporate team.
2. Manage the selection, hiring, onboarding, training, and developing of high-quality team
members to achieve targeted staffing levels; build an empowered team that hits their targets
and has fun.
3. Ensure schedules are optimized to achieve the appropriate staffing levels to meet client demand
and that the books are optimized. Ensure the stylist are offering incremental services when the
time allows for it.
4. Ensure your team has a clear understanding of their individual and salon performance
expectations and coach and mentor them to achieve the performance targets.
5. Fully utilize the resources that are available to you to achieve the targets for your team and
salon.
6. Ensure back-bar and professional supply inventory are at optimal levels and provide the needed
item list to Front Desk manager for them to order.
7. Monitor each team member’s performance and provide coaching and professional development
accordingly through the following:
- Quarterly one-on-one meeting
- Motivate team members to reach their maximum technical and professional potential
- Provide performance improvement plans and discipline writes-ups when necessary, in a
timely and consistent manner
- Ensure all team members are following the Boardroom way
- Develop and implement team incentives and initiatives in membership and product sales
- Deliver recognition and rewards
8. Monitor and understand your salon’s performance and client satisfaction trends; resolve issues
and make improvements as needed to achieve targets
9. Conduct technical training, client service training, and on-going education for your team.
10. Maintain frequent communication with Co-manager and Area manager to effectively resolve
situations impacting client service, team members and operations.
11. Ensure all your team members know the current promotions and are offering when appropriate.
12. Ensure all salon equipment is operating safely and optimally, including quarterly maintenance
upkeep, and that the salon is maintained to company and TDLR standards.
