The main difference is that a Studio Intern is usually a student or recent graduate gaining hands-on experience, while a Graphic Designer is a trained professional responsible for creating visual content. Both roles are common in creative industries, but their responsibilities and experience levels differ.

What are the common responsibilities and learning opportunities for a studio intern?

As a Studio Intern, you can expect to assist with a variety of tasks such as organizing equipment, supporting production set-ups, managing schedules, and helping with administrative duties. You'll often collaborate closely with production teams, learning firsthand about the workflow of a professional studio. This role provides valuable exposure to the technical and creative aspects of studio operations, allowing you to develop practical skills and industry connections. Interns frequently have opportunities to observe or participate in active projects, making it a great stepping stone for future roles in media, broadcasting, or production.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a studio intern?

To thrive as a Studio Intern, you typically need a foundational understanding of creative processes, organization, and basic knowledge of the specific studio's focus (such as art, music, or design), often supported by relevant coursework or a portfolio. Familiarity with industry-standard software (like Adobe Creative Suite for design or Pro Tools for audio), file management, and studio equipment is highly valuable. Strong communication, adaptability, and a willingness to learn are standout soft skills in this position. These skills and qualities are crucial for effectively supporting studio operations, collaborating with team members, and maximizing learning in a fast-paced, creative environment.

What is a studio intern?

Studio interns are entry-level workers who assist with various tasks in a studio environment, such as a recording, art, or film studio. Their responsibilities may include setting up equipment, organizing materials, supporting creative projects, and performing administrative duties. Studio internships provide valuable hands-on experience, insight into industry operations, and opportunities to learn from professionals. These roles are often sought after by students or recent graduates looking to build their skills and start a career in the creative industries.

How You'll Make An Impactย

Business Operations will work directly with the CEO and senior leadership to contribute to high-priority projects across Operations and Growth. This role is ideal for a business-minded individual eager to gain hands-on experience in strategic planning, operational efficiency, and AI-driven initiatives. The intern will play a key part in streamlining company-wide operations and supporting the execution of Magnet's growth strategies in a flexible, hybrid work environment.

What You'll Do

  • Work directly in HubSpot to standardize naming conventions, clean backend data, and ensure CRM records are audit-ready.
  • Assist in standardizing how quarterly proposals are logged so reporting is consistent and reliable.
  • Support recurring reporting and dashboard management across operations and leadership.
  • Conduct audits of internal project wrap reports.
  • Compile and maintain follow-up checklists to help senior leadership confirm that client outreach has been completed after campaigns close.
  • Participate in executive meetings, document key actions, and follow up on deliverables.
  • Leverage AI tools, including Claude, to support operational workflows and surface efficiencies across reporting and project tracking.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute ideas to enhance business growth and innovation.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all communications and interactions.

What You'll Need

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Operations, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated interest in business operations, sales operations, or strategic planning.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendar), with comfort working across spreadsheets and data tracking.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms is a plus; experience in HubSpot is a double plus!
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to interact with senior leaders in a professional setting.
  • A self-starter mindset with a passion for learning, process improvement, and continuous growth.
  • Comfortable adapting to evolving priorities and working both independently and as part of a team.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in business and sales operations at a dynamic, award-winning creative studio. If you're eager to build real skills in CRM management, operational reporting, and AI-assisted workflows while growing alongside a team that invests in its people, we'd love to hear from you!
