Job Summary
The Student Assistant will support the COE Eagle Academy as a Student Assistant on the Statesboro Campus beginning Fall 2026. EAGLE Academy (Equal Access to Gainful Learning and Employment) is a postsecondary education program for young adults with intellectual and/or developmental disability. EAGLE Academy offers students a combination of University courses, specialized Academy courses focused on life and college success skills, and a variety of internships and work experiences. The EAGLE Academy Student Assistants are integral to the ongoing function and support of the program and Academy student success.
Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.
Responsibilities
  • Attends a course with an EAGLE Academy student as scheduled
  • Works in a supportive/coaching role within the class and afterward during study time
  • Works with the EAGLE Academy student on time management skills, academic coursework, and social supports
  • Reports to EAGLE Academy staff on time spent with EAGLE

Shift Specifics
  • Up to 10 hours per week
  • Flexible with schedule of availability

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
  • Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.
