Program and Communications Assistant - Student Service
City: West Lafayette
Job Description:
Job Summary
This position provides operational and administrative support to the Director and Assistant Director of the Center on Aging and the Life Course (CALC). The undergraduate student service position is vital to the CALC mission of promoting aging-related research and education at Purdue University that uses a life course perspective to enhance the length and quality of life.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Website maintenance (Purpose: Marketing and Communications)
  • Social media strategy and content creation (Purpose: Marketing and Communications)
  • Graphic design utilizing Canva (Purpose: Development, Marketing and Communications)
  • Stakeholder communication (Purpose: Development, Marketing and Communications)
  • Authorship of articles, including necessary research, interviews, etc., for the twice-yearly newsletter (Purpose: Marketing and Communications)
  • Record keeping activities (Faculty grants, event attendance, program participation, etc.) (Purpose: Operations)
  • Logistical assistance with CALC events (Purpose: Academic Programming)
  • Preparation and distribution of monthly E-News communication (Purpose: Marketing and Communications)
  • Special projects as determined by the Director
  • Other duties as assigned

Education
High School Degree and enrollment as an undergraduate student at Purdue University is required.
Experience
  • Experience with Canva (graphic design) and Cascade (web design)
  • Internet, social media, and Microsoft Office skills
