Job description

SUPERVISOR OF STUDENT SERVICES

(EAEA Collective Bargaining Agreement position)


Ephrata Area School District, Ephrata, PA, is recruiting for a (1/3) Supervisor of Student Services , which is similar to a Special Education Consultant (SEC), for our elementary programs K-4.ย  This is a full-time contracted EAEA professional position.
This position will support 3 Coordinators of Student Support Services in coordinating a comprehensive special education services programs operating within the district and assist building administrators, teachers, counselors, and parents in providing appropriate levels of educational, social, or emotional intervention necessary for students with special needs to attain their maximum potential. Please join us to support our students to remain in district, with the peers, in the LRE.ย  This position is the primary support of special education programs K-4.ย  Our district has 4 elementary buildings.ย We are looking for a team player who believes all children can learn, grow, and meet success.ย

KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENT
Education:ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย A minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Master's degree preferred.
Certification:ย ย  ย ย ย  ย  ย  Certification in Special Education & a Supervisory certification
Experience:ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  Five years of teaching experience in the area of certification.
Language Skills: ย ย  ย Ability to evaluate, interpret and analyze; Effective written and verbal communication skills; Ability to maintain written records, and effectively present information to colleagues, students, parents, and administrators; Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with tact and diplomacy
Mathematical Skills: ย ย  ย Ability to work with mathematical concepts, math reasoning, and math logic
Other Skills & Abilities:ย ย  ย Demonstrate knowledge of Special Education Regulations and Federal Laws relating to students with disabilities. Demonstrate knowledge of best practices pertaining to the education of gifted students as well as students with disabilities and at-risk students. Ability to collaborate with administrators, professional, and para-professional staff. Demonstrate experience in curriculum development as it pertains to students with disabilities, ELL students and gifted students.

Other Requirements: ย  ย Applicants must also possess the followingย criminalย clearances obtained within the last 12 months:ย Act 34 - PA Criminal Record; Act 114 - FBI Background Check; Act 151 - PA Child Abuse Clearance. The Ephrata Area School District alsoย requires a pre-employment drug test, physical, and TB test upon offer of employment as directed by PDE and the PA Department of Health.
