Job Summary
The Student Assistant will support the Department of Manufacturing Engineering as a Research Assistant on the Statesboro Campus beginning Summer 2026.
Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.
Employment is contingent upon funding.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive literature reviews on the assigned research topic
  • Support model development, simulation processes, and experimental design
  • Assist with the development, execution, and documentation of demonstration procedures
  • Perform verification and validation of simulation and experimental results
  • Contribute to regular technical reports and assist in presenting project updates to the Primary Investigator

Shift Specifics
  • Up to 20 hours per week
  • Flexible with schedule of availability

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
  • Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Education
  • Pursuing a Major in Engineering

Preferred Experience
  • Experience in simulation and programming software (AnyLogix and/or Python)
  • Experience in writing scientific reports and preparing presentations
