JOB SUMMARY:

Under limited supervision, serves as a senior technical resource for the College's enterprise resource planning systems and related applications. Provides technical administration, analysis, configuration, troubleshooting, and lifecycle support for enterprise platforms, databases, integrations, automated processes, and reporting solutions. Works collaboratively with functional departments, technology teams, and vendors to maintain reliable systems, implement improvements, protect institutional data, and support the College's administrative and academic operations..

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide senior-level technical administration, analysis, configuration, maintenance, and support for enterprise resource planning systems and related applications.
  • Serve as a technical lead for ERP implementations, upgrades, patches, enhancements, data conversions, integrations, and other enterprise application initiatives.
  • Analyze complex business and technical requirements and translate them into secure, reliable, and maintainable technical solutions.
  • Investigate and resolve complex application, database, integration, authentication, performance, data, and automated-processing issues.
  • Configure and monitor scheduled jobs, batch processes, interfaces, application services, system notifications, and other automated ERP functions.
  • Develop and maintain scripts, queries, reports, data extracts, workflows, utilities, and automated processes that support institutional operations.
  • Collaborate with functional analysts and College departments to evaluate business processes, define requirements, test solutions, and implement approved changes.
  • Coordinate integration requirements and data exchange between ERP applications, cloud services, identity systems, databases, and third-party platforms.
  • Develop test plans, conduct technical and regression testing, coordinate user acceptance testing, and validate production deployments.
  • Evaluate vendor releases, security updates, product changes, and new capabilities and recommend implementation strategies.
  • Monitor application performance, system capacity, processing reliability, and data quality and recommend corrective or preventative improvements.
  • Apply security, privacy, access-control, change-management, and data-governance requirements to ERP systems and technical solutions.
  • Maintain system architecture documents, configuration records, data models, process diagrams, technical specifications, troubleshooting guides, and standard operating procedures.
  • Coordinate with vendors and technical service providers to resolve issues, implement product changes, and maintain supported system configurations.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to ERP analysts, integration personnel, application support staff, and other technology team members.
  • Participate in scheduled maintenance, system implementations, application upgrades, after-hours support, and the on-call rotation as assigned.
  • Completes all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Development, Business Information Systems, or a related field preferred; or an equivalent combination of education, training, certifications, and progressively responsible professional experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience supporting enterprise resource planning systems, enterprise applications, databases, integrations, or related technologies preferred.
  • Experience supporting Ellucian Banner, ADP, or comparable higher education, enterprise resource planning, student information, human resources, finance, or payroll systems is preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of enterprise application architecture, system configuration, application lifecycle management, batch processing, data exchange, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Strong experience with SQL, relational databases, data models, queries, stored procedures, data validation, and performance analysis.
  • Experience with scripting or programming languages such as Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, Java, C#, PL/SQL, or comparable technologies.
  • Working knowledge of REST and SOAP web services, application programming interfaces, JSON, XML, secure file transfers, and integration technologies.
  • Experience with reporting tools, workflow technologies, job-scheduling tools, middleware, or cloud-based automation services.
  • Working knowledge of authentication and authorization technologies, including single sign-on, SAML, OAuth, multifactor authentication, certificates, service accounts, and role-based access control.
  • Understanding of software-developmentlifecycle, testing, version control, release management, change management, incident management, and problem-management practices.
  • Ability to analyze complex business and technical requirements, identify root causes, evaluate alternatives, and implement reliable solutions.
  • Understanding of data security, privacy, FERPA, access control, audit requirements, and the protection of confidential institutional information.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives, coordinate work across teams, and provide guidance to technical and functional personnel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, documentation, time-management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Relevant certifications in ERP platforms, databases, cloud technologies, software development, or enterprise applications are preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as sedentary work involving lifting no more than 25 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying articles like docket files, ledgers, and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally, and other sedentary criteria are met.
