Job description

The Clinical Research Assistant / Research Support Specialist reviews clinic schedules to identify potential research participants, conducts outreach and study education, and assists with study visit activities including patient check-in, vital signs, medical history collection, chart review, and follow-up scheduling. Coordinates research visits, laboratory services, specimen collection, processing, storage, and shipment while ensuring compliance with study protocols, safety standards, infection control measures, and data quality requirements. Maintains study documentation, prepares research charts, organizes study supplies, manages biorepository specimens, and provides clinical support through order entry, medication refill processing, documentation, and coordination with multidisciplinary care teams across multiple clinic locations.

This position is time limited

This position requires a level II Background check.

Screening potential subjects
    Review clinic schedules to identify potential subjects (after IRB pre-screening approval).
    Outreach to potential participants
    Conduct Informed Consent 
    Educate patients/ parents on the study

Subject enrollment and follow up visits
    Assist study coordinators conducting study visits
    Prepare study documents
    Assist with collection and processing of specimens
    Assist study coordinators to schedule study visits and follow up appointments

Chart abstraction and chart report 
    Abstract medical information from Electronic Medical Records
    Complete chart reports
    Enter data as stipulated by the protocols
    File study documents

Other duties as needed and appropriate including:
    Provide clinical support to clinicians of our division as needed at the Ybor Youth Clinic, Children Medical Services and Davis Clinic.
    Office assistance as needed to include answering phones and paperwork management

     Entering orders, medication refills, creating encounters, documenting telephone notes, and uploading doc, pick up study drugs from pharmacy.
