Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct intake assessments and comprehensive mental health screenings to understand each student's needs and craft personalized treatment plans.
  • Deliver short-term individual therapy and crisis intervention for students facing a variety of challenges, including stress, anxiety, and academic pressure.
  • Facilitate engaging therapy groups and workshops that address themes relevant to student well-being, such as stress management, mindfulness, and personal development.
  • Collaborate with academic advisors, residential life staff, and student organizations to create a robust support network for our students, ensuring a holistic approach to their well-being.
  • Lead outreach efforts through mental health awareness campaigns and wellness events, fostering a culture of understanding and support within the school community.
  • Maintain comprehensive and confidential records in compliance with ethical practices and legal regulations, ensuring accountability and trust with students.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be college and high school students who may be experiencing various mental health concerns. The emphasis will be on addressing the unique challenges they face, such as transitions to higher education, social pressures, and emotional health difficulties. By using evidence-based practices and brief therapeutic models, you will actively contribute to improving their overall mental health outcomes.

Qualifications
  • A valid license as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) is required.
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field is essential.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the specific mental health challenges faced by college-aged individuals is necessary.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to foster connections with students and collaborate effectively with diverse campus members.
  • Proficiency with evidence-based therapeutic practices suitable for a university or high school counseling center setting.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing a diverse caseload will be critical for this role.
Preferred Experience
  • A minimum of two years of direct mental health counseling experience, preferably in a school or academic setting.
