Work Environment

This remote position allows for flexibility while ensuring access to necessary resources for conducting assessments and interventions. You will collaborate with a network of educational professionals, including teachers and counselors, creating a cohesive support system for students. The work schedule spans Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with occasional requirements for evening or weekend hours based on client needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments of students, identifying emotional, behavioral, social, and academic challenges.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with students, families, and school professionals to achieve specific therapeutic goals.
• Provide counseling and support to students and their families, addressing issues related to mental health, family dynamics, and coping strategies for life transitions.
• Advocate for students' rights and access to essential resources, ensuring they receive appropriate interventions and support services.
• Facilitate communication among multidisciplinary teams, including special education teachers, school psychologists, and healthcare providers, to coordinate care effectively.
• Monitor clients’ progress through regular follow-ups and assess changes in their behavior and emotional state.
• Educate students and families about community resources, support groups, and school-based programs designed to enhance students' academic and social engagement.
• Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of all assessments, care plans, and client interactions, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Stay abreast of current social work best practices and ethical standards to uphold a high level of professionalism and integrity.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this role is on school-age children and their families, addressing a variety of challenges including academic difficulties, emotional distress, behavioral issues, and social integration. As a vital member of the student support team, you will empower students to overcome obstacles that may hinder their educational and personal growth.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Arizona.
• Minimum of two years of relevant social work experience, particularly in a school or child-focused environment.
• In-depth understanding of adolescent behavioral issues, community resources, and family dynamics.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on empathetic and effective collaboration.
• Solid organizational skills and proficiency in maintaining accurate electronic health records (EHR) to document client interactions and care plans.
• A passion for working with children and their families, providing guidance and support through challenging times.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working within a school system and familiarity with educational policies and supports.
• Knowledge of therapeutic modalities suitable for youth, including play therapy and cognitive-behavioral techniques.
• Competence in offering crisis intervention and conflict resolution strategies.

Compensation and Benefits
