Student Employee - HR Training & Development Project Assistant
Position Summary:
This position exists in order to assist the Performance and Talent Development Manager with content development, project planning and execution relevant to campus events, and training and development for Ensign employees.
In addition to fulfilling this purpose, the Student HR Training and Development Project Assistant continuously strives to bring about the mission of Ensign College, which is to develop capable and trusted disciples of Jesus Christ.
Student Employees are eligible to work on campus in a part time capacity according to Ensign College Student Employment Policy. In addition to fulfilling this purpose, each employee continuously strives to bring about the mission of Ensign College, which is to develop capable and trusted disciples of Jesus Christ.
Hours: 15-19 hours a week during semester and the starting wage for all student employees is $14.00 per hour with the possibility of $.25 rate increase each semester of continued work based on merit.
Specific Summary of Duties:
  • Coordinates department projects through effective project plans including milestone and achievable deadlines
  • Supports training initiatives and assists in coordinating the implementation strategies of training solutions.
  • Works effectively as a team member and is collaborative with other members of the HR staff.
  • Assists with the planning, organizing, facilitation, and coordination of materials, supplies, and resources for employee development and training events.
  • Assists in developing training lessons, courses, and development programs and objectives through Workday Learning, Camtasia, Captivate, and Canva.
  • Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Be currently enrolled as an Ensign College student taking at least 3 credits per block and in good academic standing.
  • Ability to produce effective written correspondence through email and other written communication.
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively, listen and respond appropriately.
  • Highly self-motivated, hard worker, creative, and has a great attention to detail.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with the supervisor, team members, faculty, and staff.
  • Ability to solve problems and ask for clarification as needed.
  • Proficient in Office 365 with experience preferred in Workday Learning, Camtasia, Captivate, and Canva.
  • Dependable attendance and timely arrival at the assigned work location.
  • Preferably pursuing a course of study in Human Resources or Business-related fields with an emphasis on Project Management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation and content creation skills.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Office 365, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams).
  • Preferably experienced with Smart Sheet, Project Management principles, and a willingness to learn programs like, Adobe Captivate, Workday Learning, and other multimedia training software like Camtasia.
  • Ability to evaluate and research solutions.
  • Ability to collaborate in creating department documentation, project communications, deadlines, effective content, and development deliverables.
