Job description

Elford is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead K-12 construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is responsible for managing project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, client relationships, and overall project execution while ensuring every project is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with Superintendents, Project Engineers, owners, architects, and trade partners, you'll play a key role in delivering educational facilities that positively impact students, educators, and communities throughout the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of K-12 construction projects from preconstruction through completion.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and overall financial performance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with school districts, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Lead project planning, subcontract administration, procurement, and contract management.
  • Coordinate closely with Superintendents to ensure safe, efficient, and successful field execution.
  • Manage project documentation, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project reporting.
  • Identify project risks and implement solutions to maintain schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Mentor Project Engineers and support the development of future project management talent.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
  • 6+ years of progressive project management experience within General Contracting construction.
  • K-12, higher education, or public-sector construction experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to successfully manage multiple construction projects and competing priorities.
  • Strong knowledge of project scheduling, budgeting, cost control, and contract administration.
  • Experience with construction management software such as Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and delivering exceptional client service.
