University Annual Giving & Stewardship in the Office of Engagement is seeking applications for a federal work-study student employee who wants to learn more about fundraising and annual giving at UVA!
Job responsibilities: This student will help write direct marketing appeals, impact pieces, and social media posts. Duties will also include editing and proofing drafts, and collecting and writing stories about UVA's alumni, students, faculty, staff, and donors. Other similar duties may be assigned within the Office of Engagement.
Qualifications: Strong writing skills, excellent time management, and a curiosity to meet people and learn their stories. Attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously are also highly valued.
Eligibility: Applicants must be eligible for student employment and work-study (FWS). This position will report to the Assistant Director of Content Creation, Direct Marketing. This posting is for the fall 2026 and spring 2027 semesters.
Work will be remote. There will be periodic opportunities for in-person collaboration and responsibilities.
Rate of pay: $19.50/hour.
Scheduling: Up to 20 hours a week; a minimum of 10 hours a week.
Location: University Annual Giving & Stewardship's physical office is located at 2420 Old Ivy Road in Charlottesville.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Resume and writing sample required.
Education: Current UVA student. Federal work-study eligible.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
