Job description

Job Title: Student Management Team

Federal Work Study - Student Management Team Member

Number of Positions: 4

Department: Office of Student Experience

Job Location: Student Center

Supervisor: Director of Student Experience - pending

Hours per Week (Max 20): 20


Duties and Responsibilities:

The Federal Work Study Student Management Team Member will provide administrative, programming, and event support for the Office of Student Experience. Student employees will play a vital role in creating an engaging campus environment by assisting with campus traditions, leadership initiatives, student organizations, and special events. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as a student ambassador for the Office of Student Experience by providing excellent customer service to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and campus visitors.
  • Assist with planning, organizing, and executing campus-wide programs and events, including Homecoming, Mini Homecoming, Welcome Week, Family Weekend, Student Leadership programs, and other signature university events.
  • Support programming and initiatives for Greek Life, including Divine Nine (NPHC) organizations and other recognized student organizations.
  • Assist with event setup and breakdown, including arranging tables, chairs, decorations, signage, audiovisual equipment, and other event materials.
  • Help monitor events to ensure a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all participants.
  • Assist with marketing and promotional efforts by creating flyers, distributing promotional materials, posting on social media, and helping maintain digital communication platforms.
  • Assist with maintaining student organization records, attendance logs, event registrations, and other office documentation.
  • Help coordinate meetings, leadership workshops, training sessions, and student engagement activities.
  • Support student organization fairs, leadership conferences, community service initiatives, and campus traditions.
  • Maintain inventory of office and event supplies and assist with preparing materials for upcoming programs.
  • Represent the Office of Student Experience professionally both during business hours and at evening or weekend campus events as work schedules require.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Experience.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be eligible for the Federal Work Study Program.
  • Must be enrolled as a Kentucky State University student.
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress as defined by the University.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse student populations.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends when campus events require.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods during campus events.
  • Ability to lift and move event materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions during campus programs.
