Job description

REPORTS TO: Building Principalย 
COMPENSATION:ย $23.99/hr.
WORK CALENDAR: 187 Days
STANDARD HOURS: 8 Hours/Day
FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Hourly Non-Exempt/Classified
PERF: CPCSC is a Non-PERF Districtย 





RESPONSIBILITIESย 

  • Perform collection development following CPCSC guidelines and current library practices
  • Maintain circulation, cataloging, care and inventory of all school library materials following CPCSC guidelines and current library practices
  • Comply with record keeping, records privacy, and organizational tasks following CPCSC guidelines and current library practices
  • Create and promote reading through book promotions, displays, bulletin boards, and reading incentives
  • Proved collection care, maintenance, and repair
  • Read widely and deeply both children's material and professional development materialsย 
  • Prepare and execute read-alouds, book talks, and other engaging lessons that promote reading and tie to building curriculum
  • Assist students in materials selection for academic and personal use
  • Engage students with reading for both academic and personal growth
  • Utilize high quality research, reading and educational resources in all aspects of the libraryย 
  • Perform assigned supervision
  • Plan, organize and execute book fairs
  • Assist and maintain library and other technologies
  • Work collaboratively with all CPCSC school libraries and community partners
  • Support the mission and vision of CPCSC school and school librariesย 
  • All other duties as assigned by Administration

QUALIFICATIONS:

The preferred candidate will have Media Clerk or library related experience.

The preferred candidate will have experience working with elementary school aged students.
