Job description

Netter Library Student Assistant

Responsibilities:

  • Answering basic patron questions
  • Referring patrons in need of professional assistance to Librarians
  • Answering the phone
  • Check-in and check-out of library materials
  • Processing mail
  • Copying and scanning
  • Library database searching
  • Shelving books and journals
  • Shelf reading
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Reliable
  • Excellent customer services skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with all library patrons: students, staff and faculty
  • Ability to learn new computer programs
  • Capable of following directions and working independently
  • Library experience preferred but not necessary

Hours of Position:

Monday โ€“Thursday 4pm โ€“ 8pm

Friday 3pm โ€“ 5pm

Saturday and Sunday 12pm โ€“ 5pm
