Job description

Psychology Intern

Addison Trail High School is seeking a Psychology Intern for the 2026-2027 school year. The position reports to the Psychologist and is for a duration of 10 months with a stipend of $15,000.

The purpose of this role is to measure and interpret the intellectual, adaptive, academic, social, and emotional development of children; interpret results of psychological studies; and develop strategies and interventions to address the special education needs of eligible students.

Essential functions include administering assessments, assessing students' capabilities, communicating with students and professionals, compiling evaluation reports, consulting with various parties, coordinating with community agencies, counseling students and guardians, developing behavior plans, facilitating meetings, implementing program development, intervening in inappropriate student behavior, preparing written materials, and researching resources and methods.

Other functions involve participating in meetings and performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications include skills in applying assessment instruments, operating office equipment, and preparing records; knowledge of psychology and educational principles, relevant laws, district policies, and school psychology subject matter; and abilities in scheduling, data management, and problem solving.

Responsibilities include working under limited supervision, providing information, and utilizing resources from other work units.

The working environment requires some physical demands such as lifting, carrying, and fine finger dexterity, with a mix of sitting, walking, and standing.

Education: Bachelor's degree. Pursuing Master's degree in Psychology.

Certifications/Licenses: Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with School Psychology Endorsement.
