SUMMER 2027


Shure offers a challenging, fun, and rewarding summer internship program. The twelve-week program is offered to undergraduate and graduate students. We offer internships with a variety of work arrangements from onsite interns to fully remote in US. Each intern will receive a competitive salary. Additionally, Interns who are asked to relocate to Illinois for onsite internships will receive a housing stipend to cover living expenses. Applications will be collected, reviewed, and selected candidates will be contacted in late fall/early winter.


As the Industrial Design Intern, you’ll work within Shure’s award-winning Industrial Design team to develop the visual message and user experience of new Shure products. You’ll have the opportunity to grow your knowledge of human factors/ethnography, design trends, and manufacturing materials/processes, and leave your mark on Shure by creating the visual and physical cues of product designs that define the Company’s design language and product user experience.


This Internship is Hybrid in Niles, IL.

  • Collaborate with designers on the creation and development of solutions that convey a visual and tactile message to the product use case and with consideration for the production process and cost targets.
  • Team up with designers to identify social, industry, and technology trends that influence the development of future Company products.
  • Support designers with generating and communicating the visual and physical aspects of designs through sketches, illustrations, renderings, and 3D prototype models.
  • Assist with the creation of presentations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Preference for students pursuing a degree in Industrial Design.
  • Entrepreneurial and self-motivated, with a strong work ethic.
  • Strong creative and analytical thinking/problem solving skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, providing deliverables on time.
  • Experience with 3D modeling and visual communication tools. Rhino 3d, Keyshot, & Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
  • Knowledge of design methodology.
  • An interest in consumer and professional audio products.
  • Ability to develop an understanding of human factors and design trends as they relate to project need.
  • Ability to exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and giving presentations).
  • Acute attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with defining and implementing color, material, and finish is a plus.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing materials and processes, primarily plastic injection molding, metal die casting, and stamping, is a plus.
