You as a Student Security Administrator will:

  • Physical Security Specifics: For physical security roles, tasks might include assisting with asset management tracking.
  • Inventory: Itemizing documents and creating a naming & control system.
  • Monitoring and Analysis: Monitoring security systems, logs, to detect potential threats or unauthorized access attempts.
  • Risk and Vulnerability Assessment: Conducting vulnerability assessments of applications or networks, and helping implement controls to mitigate risks.
  • Policy and Compliance: Assisting in the development, review, testing and enforcement of security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Project Support: Collaborating on security-related projects, which may involve implementing new security tools, designing solutions, or managing project coordination tasks.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Collecting security metrics, preparing reports and maintaining documentation related to security assets and processes.

Key Skills and Competencies

  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality.
